Before Bathroom Transformation

Why Redecorate Your bathroom?

“We’re seeing that people no longer see the bath as a utilitarian space but more of a experiential space. They’re looking for spa-like experiences…”

Young Huh

If given the choice, aren’t we all looking for a spa-like experience? Your bathroom is the very first place you see in the morning, it’s where you spend the start of your day and get your thoughts together. How a space is organized and designed indeed has an influence on our mindset for the day.

Timeless Designs

Updated Vanity

Marble Counter Tops:

Marble counter tops are strong in durability and timeless in design. They will continue to be popular materials for bathrooms and kitchens alike. Another bonus is that marble counters can meet the personal styles of both traditionalists and modernists- no matter what decorating style suits you best- marble is always a spectacular choice.

Carson Grey Wood Plank Ceramic Tile Flooring:

There’s so much to love about these tile floors. Not only do they have a natural appearance but they create an elegant style for high moisture areas such as a bathroom, kitchen, laundry room or entry. Ceramic tile is durable and easy to maintain. My client absolutely loved how this flooring brought texture and a natural feel into her spa like experience.

Grey Vanity with Black Hardware:

The bespoke detail of black hardware gives this traditional vanity depth and texture. You can mix and match metals in most cases and this beautiful chrome faucet set atop the white marble sink deserves to shine. I love how this vanity gives ample storage for this small space bathroom, as it has a drawer that opens from the bottom.

Paint Color:

As you can see from the before photo, this restroom was very dark and uninspiring. The goal of this bathroom was to create a space that feels very open and fresh. As this is the only restroom in the home, there wasn’t room to play with dark color or wallpaper. Therefore, I used my favorite hue which is an Alabaster white in Satin from Sherwin Williams. This blissful white paint color with a touch of cream instantly brightened up the space, giving it the ultimate fresh feeling we were after.

Making a Statement with Shower Tile:

Decorating small spaces does NOT mean we have to stay ordinary. On the contrary, small spaces need a statement whether is with a stunning piece of art or a mosaic in the shower. Subway tile is a personal favorite and it’s perfect for just that. I used a Snow Glass tile and an accent tile in Spa Blue Glass from Floor and Decor, Columbus OH. As with the paint color update, this chic brand new tile created the ultimate transformation for the spa- like shower that my client was looking for.

Accents:

Vases and Decor from Crate & Barrel

Fluffy organic towels adds a warm element of comfort. Adding some small colored vases and faux flowers will also give your vanity the perfect pop of Spring-like color. Also consider a pretty ceramic tray with your favorite soap dish and decorative bar soap and lotion for guests to enjoy. Crate and Barrel or World Market have lovely bath rugs for a component of softness.

The Complete List:

  • Modern inspired custom shower: subway tile and accents to make a statement
  • Chic frame-less shower with chrome finishes
  • Caulking and fix ups for walls with new paint color
  • Vanity with black hardware and marble counter top
  • Grey mirror to coordinate with vanity
  • New modern lighting
  • New faucets
  • New towel bars
  • Old floor tare out and ceramic wood-plank flooring install
  • Add accents and floating shelf

Whether Your Style is Modern & Bold or Neutral and Classic, I can assist in transforming your morning routine into a Spa-Like Experience.
